Speaking of Ten Commandments... 1-22-2025
principles are always a work in progress
Well, I was impressed when Jesus was telling people how to follow their faith and be a tax collector. It's not the job but how you do it. Now being a somewhat sex crazed artist (sadly less and less as I grow older), I have struggled with how to do that. In order to develop some principles on being an artist I recently keyed into the 10 Commandments and am trying to customize them to work as a more specific guide for visual artists... Any suggestions or corrections?
The Ten Commandments on being a visual artist (1st version off the mountain):
1: You shall develop your own art and its expression
2: You shall not make any part of your work precious.
3: You shall not lie about your work and say that it-is what it-is-not; or say what it-is-not when that actually is what-it-is.
4: Do your art practice weekly
5: Honor past and current artists:
6: You shall not murder the artist in you or in others
7: You shall not be faithless to your voice
8: You shall not steal
9: You shall not give false testimony
10: You shall not covet another’s voice
