This festival is wonderful with things for all ages. I respect that the people running Art of Pride did not censor but just made sure artists were warning guardians of adult material. The Change Tree worked. Money flowed on and off.

Pride 2022, Maria and I had a booth in the Art of Pride section of the festivities. The venue was very nice. We were able to share in the snacks that Pride organizers had set up for volunteers and community partners. This festival is wonderful with things for all ages. I respect that the people running Art of Pride did not censor but just made sure artists were warning guardians of adult material. The Change Tree worked. Money flowed on and off the tree as people both gave and took the change, often leaving heartfelt comments as they did so.
In case you're wondering how it worked out financially. The tree started with $42 donated by Fred Marinello and ended up being $25 ahead in the end. The $25 will be used on a future iteration of The Change Tree (make or take). I sold miniatures both 4x4" ($25) and 3.5x2.5" ($10 and $6). I gave away 'Chilling with Wine' (because they liked it) to a person that chose to come to San Diego and couch surf vs commit suicide in the midwest. One person had a very strong response to a Studio Burlesque piece, laughing as they bought it. It was fun, a lot of feedback during both days. In terms of cost: $300 for the booth, $137 for the tree. Art sales totaled around $175 (includes sales tax).
Having patrons helps makes this all possible. Patrons help cover the difference between what things cost and what they sell for (especially true for the interactive pieces and the gifts).

While personing the booth, I worked on some pieces. I even talked a person into doing one with me.
