All right! I have spent at least 44 years as an artist. Themes and imagery echoing throughout the decades as images taken popup reworked again and again. Since 2012 I have been focused on mixed media and interactive pieces. Loved the work, time to move on.

Going to the Dairy in 29 Palms for a Residency, 10-16-2022 to 10-30-2022. Time for an epiphany. I am going to the desert in the hopes of causing a Merriam-Webster's 3 (a) 3 epiphany to be sparked:
"3(a)3: an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure." Looking for an angel (possibly you?) to drop in and talk to me, on a sand dune, in the oasis, by the pool of your hotel... even a pithy reply email will work. At the end of the residency I hope to start my 2nd childhood with a clear head (for now) and fixed purpose as I run, walk, crawl, and then drag myself through the last 20 (hopefully) years of my life.
In order to spark the epiphany on how to spend my twilight years I am clearing the decks. Creating a piece called 'Abandoned Art.' I will have 300+ of my miniatures, larger pieces, old prints, and other things strewn in some corner of the Dairy. Abandoned Art's predecessor is an interactive piece I did for Lori Lipsman in one of her Apartment shows. I put a lot of my finished work into trash bags or strew it about the kitchen. The back story being that 'the artist' had to move quickly, forfeiting their cleaning deposit... 2/3rds of what I had out was taken, the rest I used later in collages'.
There are Art Tours going on during the two weekends I will be there (part of the time). Here is a link. Anna and Ted will have a nice show in the old cow milking building. My artwork in Abandoned Art will be free (tentatively) for the taking (as if you do not have enough of my stuff already). Contributions accepted but in no way required, (Venmo @rbcdart, Subscription to www.rbcdart.com). During the 2 weeks, my setup will be accessible. Tell me if your coming (text or call 1-619-337-5489) so I can be around. There are a lot of things to do in 29 Palms. Maria and I will tend to wander a bit...

- normally I do this newsletter at 7am PT, on every other Monday. I will be in the desert so figured I should get this out early...
