Doing art, volunteering, getting in shows, art gym resurfacing... it's a wonderful life.
Finished the piece for Angie and I will be shipping it off to her shortly (need to touch up the varnish first). Here is how the piece turned out and how it started. I thought I would send her both since I made 2 prints in case I needed to collage...
I am halfway through one of the two crows I planned to submit for the Crow show. Much to my delight Fred claimed it early, so I think there will only be one submission now (if I'm lucky). You can see the process of creating so far in the 20 minute video below the picture:
Starting January 4th and going for a month, my much discussed piece "Blue Eye" will be in public view at The Studio Door. Blue Eye has a bit of nudity in it (a nipple)...

Finished off the last of my No Mail Posts. I have them all together and each post in the group has 7 other posts in it. Quite an interesting review and it has a lot of my earlier stuff that I had on Patreon and moved to here without telling anyone. Some SFW and some NSFW:
I and several other people came up with some general guidelines to reintroduce open life drawing to OMA. There will be more discussion about it on the 31st with OMA's executive council, fingers crossed. If you would like to read what we came up with, it is here:
Kevin Inman is spearheading an effort to introduce an art gym to the San Diego Museum of Art for artists and guild members. He may have found the space at the San Diego Art Museum. It would initially not have Life Drawing but be a place where artists in all stages of development could work together or in parallel. I have volunteered to volunteer and help in what ways they would like. Currently I am also volunteering at OMA setting up and taking down for the monthly artist coffee on the first Sunday, 12 to 2pm, of every month.
Colonoscopy went well. I was a wreck from the prep but the procedure was fine. I was in a well lighted room with nurses chatting, bustling, and helping each other as they prepped me. Doctor was very personable and made sure I knew what was going on. She clipped 3 polyps, and recommended that I go onto a high fiber diet to keep clear the little pockets I have developed in my large intestine. All normal stuff for a person my age.
Happy Holidays, when the next monthly SFW letter comes out it will be the new year!
Lots of love,
